Mahindra finally jumps into the EV market to showcase its performance and capture market share from competitors with two models: Mahindra BE 6e and XUV 9e. Among these, the XUV 9e is a premium model, while the Mahindra BE 6e is positioned as a budget model. Despite being in the budget segment, it offers numerous high-end features.
If we talk about the dimensions of the Mahindra BE 6e:
- Length: 4371 mm
- Width: 1907 mm
- Height: 1627 mm
These dimensions make it look bulky.
- Wheelbase: 2775 mm
- Wheels: 19-inch
- Ground clearance: 207 mm for better off-road experience
- Rear boot space: 455 L
- Front trunk: 45 L
The front C-shaped DRLs and rear C-shaped tail lamps look very attractive and seem ready to give tough competition to other EV carmakers.
The Mahindra BE 6e features two screens, one dedicated for the driver and another for the rear. In terms of driving comforts and specs, it’s at the next level. The steering wheel with the Mahindra logo looks good and resembles a bit of the Mitsubishi logo. Notably, Mahindra has designed this logo specifically for its EV cars.
A standout feature is the illuminated sunroof with the Mahindra logo, which looks amazing, especially at night. Additionally, the car includes 16 speakers for a premium audio experience.
The auto-park feature allows the car to park without keys, using a remote.
When it comes to the battery, the Mahindra BE 6e comes in two variants:
- 59 kWh
- 79 kWh (range: 682 km; to be launched in February 2025)
The 59 kWh variant supports a 175 kW DC charger, and it can charge from 20% to 80% in just 20 minutes, which is excellent as short charging time is critical for EVs.
